Italians From the director of the popular comedy "Manual of Love", this film is presented in the familiar Italian format of vignettes. For each vignette, the themes are signaled by the subtitle: "We [Italians] always make our presence known [wherever we are.]" And as: "Italians are the ones who make the metal detector go off the most!" In the first episode, Fortunato is a truck driver who for years has been transporting stolen Ferraris to the Arab Emirates. On what he says will be his last "run" before passing the job onto a young "trainee," a friendship develops between the two as the Italians try to meld in the Arab culture. In the end, the relationship between the two Italians faces one last challenge. The second episode involves Giulio, a fifty-something dentist from Rome, whose failing marriage has plunged him into depression. Pushed by his friend to attend a convention in St. Petersburg with the lure that Russia is the land of liberal sex, Guilio reluctantly goes. He meets the laughable Vito Calzone who tries to find Giulio the girl he thinks he needs. The Russian mafia has other ideas which sends Giulio on the run until he eventually finds what fills his heart with real love. Special Silver Ribbon nomination for comedy, by the Italian Film Journalists' Union. Huge Box Office success in Italy!
