The story is about four boys and two girls who have just graduated from high school, and what they learn on their vacation in the wilderness, where the mountains -- Italy's famed Dolomites -- will be their teacher about life. In the middle of beautiful but also harsh and rugged nature, the youngsters, which include a sensitive and foolhardy handicapped boy, will learn about freedom, friendship, pain, and solitude. Ultimately the group begins to understand about making decisions and taking responsibility as they face the challenges presented by the mountains.
